Cats and dogs are great…just not when they come from the sky. Trading rainy Seattle for the golden sunshine of Gainesville, Michael Cizek, a 2nd year finance student, was reportedly seen slipping out of his worn rain coat and into a pair of unused shorts.
Before he was a college student, Michael was hatched in Richmond, VA. He grew up loved by his mother, father, and little sister Alexandra. In his youth Michael enjoyed playing baseball, learning about any moving vehicle, and watching [orange and] Blue’s Clues. But like all lads, Michael grew up, began growing facial hair (sorta…), and was ready for college.
When it came time to picking a college, Michael had a tough choice. But after careful consideration, Michael spoke to UF like he speaks to his nose saying, “I pick you!”
Upon entering UF, Michael wasted no time at all. 20 minutes after saying goodbye to his dear parents, he rushed over to his first Gator Band rehearsal. After a fun season of Gator Football and playing lots of Sousaphone, Michael was ready for more.
He met lots of new friends in Student Government, the Florida Leadership Academy, and as both a Resident Assistant and Preview Staffer. That’s some fun stuff, but Michael wanted to try something that is neater than a pocket on a shirt.
In September of 2015, Michael won a contest to be the year’s student Mr. Two Bits. He led the cheer to over 80,000 people before the East Carolina football game. During the cheer, Michael tried to do a backflip…emphasis on tried.
Michael now enjoys spending time with friends, riding his bike around Gainesville, eating pizza, and not trying to backflip. If you ever see him around campus, be sure to say hello! He is good with children and does not bite.
